- Answer: The standard SI-3101 is a non-vacuum model. If you require a central vacuum or self-generating vacuum model, please check out our SI-3101M or SI-3101P series.
Can I mount a 6-inch backing pad to this 5-inch sander model?
- Answer: We do not recommend mounting a 6" pad to the SI-3101, as the internal counterweight is balanced specifically for a 5" pad. For 6-inch sanding tasks, we recommend using our SI-3101-6 model.
How do I adjust the rotational speed of the orbital sander?
- Answer: The tool features a built-in thumb regulator dial near the palm trigger paddle to adjust tool speed and orbit frequency.

SHINANO 150MM PNEUMATIC DUAL ACTION VELCO PAD ORBITAL PALM SANDER

This gadget is quite effective in terms of palm sanders. I mostly use it to sand down aluminum and It is powerful enough to assist in removing most scratches. Also use it to assist with paint finishing with 80 and 180 grit, it works really well. And while I haven't tried it personally, I believe it would work perfectly if you needed to perform bondo work.

I wanted something smaller and more portable for those harder-to-reach spots as I polish a lot for work, especially metal surfaces on trucks. I recently purchased a similarly sized polisher that just wasn't strong enough. The power this one produces though is more than I require. It completes the task with ease, not at all slowing me down. It is also simple to use and doesn't vibrate excessively.

I purchased this sometime ago to add to my detailing workshop. I'm amazed at the price for the quality so far, and quite happy with it. It has replaced some more expensive models in my tool kit. And, in my opinion, performs far better. It is ergonomically designed, less than one pound in weight, and has minimal vibration levels. What more could you ask for?

This sander is really well constructed and of outstanding quality. It does require a lot of air to operate well, but if you have a large air compressor, it's one of the best tools available and I would certainly recommend it to others.

The rotational movement of the sander makes it smooth and simple to use on sensitive surfaces, making it an excellent tool all things considered. It's no problem for this sander to handle tasks like feather edging, metal preparation, and body filler blending. wonderful product.
