How to choose an FRL system
- Match the connection: verify inlet and outlet thread size and thread standard at the installation point.
- Allow enough flow: the FRL's rated flow should support the pneumatic tool or tools at their real working demand; an undersized unit can create pressure drop under load.
- Set the correct pressure: size the regulator for the equipment's recommended operating pressure, not the compressor tank's maximum pressure.
- Choose the drain: manual drain suits monitored workstations; auto drain reduces routine bowl-draining steps.
- Confirm lubrication is appropriate: oil may be beneficial for some pneumatic tools but is not appropriate for every air system, especially equipment or processes that require dry, oil-free air.
